As I sit here feeling ever so slightly dodgy I wonder if anyone else suffers from what I can only call a dog show hangover?? I put it down to a long day, most of it either standing or running around the ring, not enough to drink (i.e. dehydration) and a wee bit of adrenaline, I must admit I wish I'd joined the rest at the bar and had a few as I doubt I would feel much worse
Yesterday saw Manchester our first Championship show of the season, judge for the day was breed specialist Yvonne Billows. I was pleasd that Millie, in her first and last Yearling class was 3rd so therefore has got the qualification for Crufts 2013 over early in the year
It was great to have a good catch up with everyone and lovely to see the first new champion of the year crowned, congratulations to Jo, Geoff and Holly we're thrilled for you all
The puppies are continuing to do well and we've finally added some more recent picture of them to the current litters page
Quite a few of our new puppy owners recently asked if we had a Facebook profile so they could "friend" us to share pictures and stories of their new babies with us. We have therefore created a private group and invited people who have a "Waterswarren" to join, it's really popular with our puppy owners as they can see pictures of their puppies siblings and also share hints, tips and stories. It's growing into a bit of an extended family which is lovely. This is a private group and therefore only people who own a Waterswarren can join or view the group, we very much respect the privacy of our puppy owners therefore we never share your pictures etc... unless with your express permmission. We've added as many people as we currently have friends but if you have a "Waterswarren" and would like to join drop me a line and I'll add you to the group. It gives me so much joy watching the puppies grow and seeing them develop as members of their new families.
Wednesday 18th January
Well despite my promises to keep the site updated it would appear I have failed miserably. So I sincerely hope you all enjoyed a fabulous Christmas and have arrived into 2012 unscathed from your New Year celebrations.
We have been kept busy with the puppies leaving and even busier with the ones which have remained. We have two new (hopefully) permanent additions to the Waterswarren gang in Charlie (W. Willy Wonka) and Daisy (W. Whoops A Daisy). They have now entered the terrible gangly, growing stage but we're hopeful for the future and all being well they will make their show debuts later in the year.
We started 2012 on a bit of a high in the showring when at Dukeries (Notts) Gundog under breed specialist Angela Chandler, Millie was placed 2nd in a lovely class. Not to be outdone by her daughter, Babs showed her how it was done by winning the OB class and then being awarded BOB. We feel we haven't given Babs a fair crack of the whip in the show ring due to many circumstances, however last year she really did us proud. She gained her Stud Book Number and was consistantly in the cards at the few Champ Shows we took her to. She's looking the best she ever has (not my words) so hopefully 2012 will be her year. We'll see............
